The 3053a is longer than all the dodge 4 speed inputs shaft i have down here and at the ranch. It has a "mini" bellhousing i did not receive when i got trans. The input shaft has the clutch splines at the end of the shaft, I have to go back and measure the spine count i think it is 10, about 1 1/2 od shaft, its huge, looks like a mack input shaft. It has to use a clutch i personally never saw in dealership. But the dangum think is a bolt in if you have a tall deck chevy with the big "giant" 13 or 14 inch bellhousing, prob with bell i have is they are too shallow and/or the throwout bearing set up will not work. I took an old 14 clutch disc and ground off the excess to try to see what would happen if i tried to bolt it up to 360 reg bell i had, input shaft is too long.. It may be if i can find the giant bell clutch setup i can convert the tran bhp to an adapter and use the trans behind a bigblock. I was wondering, does the w300 w400 w500 or d series use a giant 14 clutch in any setup you have seen. Is it avaiable only behind the big rb mopar engine? I think i must get my hands on a large bell due to the input shaft setup. Further compicating matters, the spicer t/o bearing is nla from boyce and i have never seen one in the first place let alone what it takes with the setup straight from the m35. Also got info from someone that when this trans is bolted up to the reo gas engine it has a short input shaft that can be swithced out with my long 3053a diesl version. Oh my, its the frankenstein swap. I have got a lot of help and have mailed off 4 cameras to get some pics and ordered the zentmyer conversion manual supposely showing this swap into something. Dodge city sells and i have ordered one if the pic come in an adapter from sae 2 to 3 which i also have not seen. When asked boyce for one, (they will snap dig pic at a heartbeat) they were out of stockand can/t find. Bell u describe is prob only for big blocks as you describe, i think never available for small but who knows. Wonder if any dealership still has those old paper parts books for the w300 w400 w500 d3oo etc anywhere, ever see them on web or on cd for sale. I have not a clue where to look, if could find one and see what clutch the big bell rb used would help to see what throwout bearing was used. I am trying to learn how to post pics. cd of trans back monday or tues i hope. Thanks for you input, yes it has 4 bolts but weird pattern u must see. Thanks james!!!!!!!!!!!!!
