Lonnie's right! I am a Peninsula boy born and raised across the pond from Fremont. The high tech boom inth early eighties pretty much screwed up the Bay Area. When I was a kid we used to go for Sunday drives down 101 to Gilroy. Pretty much all farms a little past Palo Alto. Now look at it, asphalt all the way from Sacratomato to the secon largest city in Calif.- San Jose. Mopar Norm is right about the taxes, pollution, overcrowding, taxes, the astronomical prices of everything from gas to houses, and the taxes. Moved up to sunny Portland seven years ago and haven't missed a minute of the New California. I thik Roseburg or Grants Pass would be a better alternative. It's not reall all that far back down to the Bay if you have to visit the relatives. Medford is just too "Californicated" for most Oregoninans and some of us ex-Californians. Come on up to Oregon. Breathe the fresh air. Own a house where you don't have to look in your neighbor's bathroom window from your dining room. Own property that you can put some Power Wagons on without having to be chained to it or some of the stifling rules that other people have dreamed up to limit you in your pursuit of happiness. Sorry about the length of this, but I had to give you my two cents...birdo
