I solder all my wiring connections on all vehicles, even my garden tractor.
I've had good results using the crimp on connectors and pulling off the plastic cover, stick the connector end in the can of flux, which will fill the hole, crimp the connector on to the wire and a little bit of solder...don't forget to put shrink tube on first.
I've also found that a very small diameter solder wire works the best...
