As Lonnie said, it's not a matter of if you are going to crash, but when and how bad. I have been riding motorcycles since I was 6 years old. I asked my wife to marry me up on top of a mountian that we ride dirtbikes up to the top of. I stopped riding street bikes 5 years ago when I became a Fireman/E.M.T. for the city of Seattle. I have driven many young men and women to the mourge, or E.R. who were riding motorcycles. Very few accidents was it "thier fault".
I'll run into burning buildings all day long, Swim in frigid waters where hypothermia sets in quick, or rappel, down the side of a 100 foot bridge to make a rescue, but I'm done with street bikes. It's not worth the risk to me.
Trail riding on a XR400 is more challenging and fun for me anyways.

But that's not to say if someone had a Vincent Black Shadow to trade for a PW, I might consider the street again!
