Synthetics are supposed to be pretty good, but one drawback I've heard about is that they tend to leak past marginal gaskets and seals a lot more than conventional oils.
Power Wagon gaskets and seals are not known for keeping the undersides of our trucks (or the ground) bone dry.
Just my thoughts.
