I would like to know if there is any way of checking if the ID plate on a civilian powerwagon is the correct plate for my vehicle by comparing it with the chasis frame number. The number on the ID plate is 83945418 and the chasis frame number is AD5387-/31BDON101860. The ID plate also states the vehicle is a B3PW6-126 and has a gross weight of 9500 pounds and also has the engine horsepower shown. Acording to my Dodge power wagon history book the ID plate number means it is a 1956 B3PW but I would like to make sure this is the correct plate for this vehicle. Do the numbers and letters on the chasis frame actualy mean anything? ie can they be decifered to tell me something about my dodge. Thankyou in advance for any assistance.
