Charlie's advise is excelent as usual. I agree that profesional crimping for the thimble is best. This can be done at any riggers supply or most places that sell cable. In the event that is not an option for you in your area and you end up using clamps or clips make sure you put the clamp on in a fashion that puts the flat portion (the nut side) onto the main line and let the shank crimp into the short tail end. If done the other way it creates a crimp and weak spot in the main line. As for the clutch lever and brake assembly, it seems that I recall someone was making new ones some time ago.
