Philosophy is great and appropriate, but money is the ticket. I have a '48 PW. Bought it for $2000. It was totally complete, it ran, but that was about it. After a few years of ongoing work, it now is mechanically sound. Still not pretty. Geez... There is about $9000 on parts reciepts in the "PW" folder.
Still wouldn't trade my fossil. Love it too much.
I suppose a few more years and about another $3000 should do it.

Philosophy:
Remove the gas cap and start pounding dollar bills into the tank with a broom handle. When the tank's full, the truck's done!
