M37: Very competent off-road rig with stock suspension, good ride, easier to engine swaps, cheaper to buy, cheaper/more abundant parts.
Power Wagon: Classic beauty, stock suspension stiffer/less compliant, harder to do powertrain swaps and not as desirable to do swaps due to increased value compared to M37 as a "classic".
If you are looking for a rugged go-anywhere 4WD, possibly for modification, get a M37. If you are looking for a true classic rig, and can afford to buy a good one and/or restore one, the PW is a bit better. Me, I'm into careful "improvement". We'll see how my ideas work out on a B1PW, compared to the M37.
