I posted aquery on the '61-'71 Dodge Truck Site about converting my '65 W200 to disc brakes (i.e., did anyone know of conversion kits). A fellow answered back that "he had heard" that DANA 60 front axles from '75-'79 Dodge W-series would "bolt right up". A couple of questions come to mind: (1) Assuming he "heard" was correct, any technical problem with swapping a DANA 60 for a DANA 44 on the front (which is what is there now), assuming the ratio is the same (i.e., 4.10:1, in this case)? (2) If any of you have done this, or have intimate knowledge of such a swap, what was done about the lower shock mount point (i.e., on '65 W200, and probably other W-series trucks, the lower mount is to an "ear" welded on the leading surface of the axle housing, an inch or two inboard of the spring mounting pad. I believe this mounting configuration was changed to a rear-of-axle location, with the '66 or '67 model year)? Appreciate your collective in-put.

v/r Mark
