I also have some questions regarding springs for PW. I have a B4 1ton and purchased a nice pair of rear packs from Dennis Sherman. How do I know if they need to be re-arched? They are sand blasted and no leaves are broken. The current front springs on my truck appear OK. Again how do I know if they need attention they ride flat across the top leaf. More than likely they have been on the truck since 1953. Is it standard procedure to have them rearched? I will be removing them in the process of rebuilding the front axle. Also I have a ½ ton wc that is being constructed from parts. The springs have considerable surface rust but otherwise appear ok. What is a give-away that they should be replaced. I imagine that they will need re-arching just due to age and "normal" wear and tear. The clips holding them together are quite rusted. Would a spring shop have specs on these as to the proper arch for them as well as for the 1 ton PW?

What would be a normal cost for re-arching and painting for a pair of springs. Any help is greatly appreciated
