a couple of years ago, we had a bearing failure with our
m37's engine, which we replaced with a 265.

the 230 engine, once torn down, is a bit of a curious
item-- i'm only guessing, of course, but this one would
seem to have been built up by someone from a new block,
and a .020 crank. the block is the correct one for the
m37. the bearing failure occured at low mileage cos some
careless assembler used star lock washers on #4 rod cap,
which deformed and allowed the cap to come loose.

i believe the crank to be beyond repair, as its already
.020, and #4 journal is hurt.

the block is still in nearly-new condition, with only
.002 or so wear at the upper ring-travel area of the
bores.

all the other parts seem to be alright, at least to
visual inspection.

what are we asking? -- i don't know what its worth
if anyone has a use for this one, give me a call on
408-923-0843 and make a reasonable offer or trade.

we're located in the san francisco bay area, california
