Visually the 1/2 ton has a sloped hood and curved
grill. Except for the ambulance the 3/4 ton has a flat hood and flat grill.
Mechanically the 3/4 ton has a larger ring gear and a different transfer case. If i remember correctly the 1/2 ton uses 7.50x16 tires while the 3/4 ton uses 9x16 tires. The WW2 Dodge Motor Pool has images of the different models.
