The short lead should have a clamp on each end. Now if I remember right, the positive lead hooks to a positive post on battery "A". Then the short lead hooks from the negative post on battery "A" to the positive post on battery "B". Then lastly the negative lead will go to the negative post on battery "B". If I've remembered correctly, this should be it. Robert
