so many "maybe's" here. I don't know about the GMC tranny but the poly bellhousing should bolt up to the hemi (I will go check in a few minutes and let you know if I am wrong). The early hemis were internally balanced as were the early polys so the flywheel should bolt up and work if the staggered bolt pattern is the same. As I recall, the early hemi's had a slightly longer tail end on the crank as the torque converter bolted directly to the crank without a flex plate and there had to be room to get tools in to unbolt it. This is to say, you might have a problem with the depth of penetration of the input shaft on either transmission. In my opinion, the 331 industrial (if it IS a stock industrial) would be the better engine as it has a steel crank, tri-metal bearing, chrome rings and and should have adjustable rockers. They are basically a de-cammed and single-carbed Chrysler 300 engine. Anyhow, off to check the bellhousing/engine match up.....
