You may not even be in the loop on this one, normaly your e-mail address can be "stolen" from someones else's address book, it doesn't have to be from your computer, the virus gets into someone's address book and "clones" all of the e-mail addresses there, making it appear that the mail is coming from a source other than the true offender. However to be absolutely certain, go to Symatec.com (that's Norton's homepage) you can download the latest virus definitions and run a scan for free ( for the first 30 days) It will give you downloads to clean up your computer and tips on how to avoid this in the future. Keeping your anti-virus current is the key to avoiding these things. Even if there is a new virus, chances are that the software will catch it or quaranteen the virus before much damage is done, the best way to stop these things is to set your computer to download the updated virus definitions at least every 48 hours.
