Go with a Mopar engine, if nothing else, no one will whine about it. Go Poly or BB, or, does it even need to be said, the best of all PW conversions, Hemi. Or diesel. I find the LA conversions as boring as a 350 Chev conversion.

I like IH engines in trucks. My M43 is getting a 392. And I chose to do this despite the fact that I have a 318 sitting in the garage. Now, if that 318 was a Poly instead of an LA I would use it. The 318 LA just doesn't speak to me. I LIKE the Polys alot but I don't have one. I do have a rebuilt 5 speed transmmission with a monster 13 inch clutch that came out of a vehicle with a GVW over 20K lb. It bolts right up to the IH 392. I have a 392. Decision made.

Longer term plans are for a WC with a 318 Poly.

Ken
