those are what i have been running on tractors and ranch trucks for 30 years, the wheel is made like that because the airplane tire has a heck of a meaty thick and stout sidewall for the landings at 100 mph plus the weight of the plane from 0 to 100 instantly. that is also why most airplane tires are desireable in brush country, high plys(over 15 usually) no flats.
