Well, in all honesty, let your engine tell YOU what it wants. Yes, Mopar SB's like the 10-12° BTDC range, but if your distributor is out a gear tooth, or the damper slipped, you'll never get it right.

Best bet? Use a tach, a vacuum gauge, and a timing light and set the warm idel circuit at the same time you do the timing. Set the curb idle to about 800 rpms (+/- depending on tranny and year), set your initial timing (lets try about 5°BTDC) and then set your idle mix screws to get the most engine vacuum you can AND you lose about 50 rpms. Turn them back out 1/4 turn. Restet your curb idle, and reste your timing (timing and RPM go hand in hand).

Now you've got the best mix going for ya!

Go for a drive, and do some WOT shots as well as some steep inclines. Pinging? Back off your timing a bit (and reset your curb idle). No pinging? Advance it further!

Keep doing this until you have the best vacuum and performance!

It's the only way to do it correctly.

Now, do you want to "Power-Tune" it? ;)
