A couple of buddies have Dakotas or Durangos with the 318. They are whining they are only getting 8 to 10 mpg. Cripes. Those with M37's with 318 engines are getting 11-12 mpg, are lower geared, and far heavier. Plus M37's have the aerodynamics of a brick. Why do the 318 Dakota/Durango suck fuel so badly? Especially since the roller timing chain and improved heads are supposed to boost mileage.
