I spot welded my SS bed side angles. Painted the bedsides with primer then cleaned a small area where the weld would be.(marked and measured both so they would line up) Spot welding will give you the cleanest "factory look" and is plenty strong if done right. Mine were in full polish at the time of welding. My 2 cents,Kevin
