Are auxillary overdrive units harder to come by than underdrive units? Are there other manufacturers?
This weekend a guy tried to sell me an overdrive unit similar to a Brown Lipe. I'm not sure who built this one. I was smart enough to know it was not an overdrive, but a 2:1 underdrive. He didn't know front from back and came close to not knowing up from down.
My question is what would happen if you mounted it backwards, and are gears available to change ratios in these boxes?
It was only $75.
