i finally got my m-37 running right. the help you guys and the m37 page gave did the trick. if you didn't see my post, in short i could not develop any power with my m37. i did everything i could to get it right. i think it turned out to be 2 major items that caused the power to go away.

1. my fuel pump's wear shoe - the one that rides the cam fell off into the pump- the problem might have caused the power loss initially as the truck didn't get enough fuel
b/c the finger did not get a full push. this was hard to diagnose because i removed the in and out fuel lines and operated the prime lever and got good suction.

2. i adjusted the carb and the dist thinking that it had to be one of those items causing the loss of power. these trucks have a habit of not dealing well with dirty fuel or poorly made tune up parts.

i then replaced the fuel pump and the tune up parts with no change in the problem

i appealed to the group for advice and was guided toward timing problems. i visited sears and 49.00 later i used a timing light for the first time to time my truck.

8 degrees of advance and my truck purrs again. small adjustment of carb brings me back to perfect.

thanks again and sorry for the long post. if its broken on your truck this page and persistance can fix it.
