If it runs fine on level ground and sputters going up or down hill, then it should be related to the carb float adjustment. Did it run OK and then go to H---? Did you work on it and then it went bad? If the engine is making horses could your clutch be shot? If it's making 2500 rpm or so and no lugging, it's not the engine at fault but somewhere else.
