The wife and I are driving to Iowa this year for the first time! (She's THRILLED about it!) Not as far as your trip, but we're also driving the '48 FF and I'd love to go trail riding, but have the same worries/concerns you've expressed (break downs, etc)!! But, we'll drive it, taking our time, just need to get more padding in the seat for the tushies! And a travel kit/toolbox/spares jusssssst in case...
