Back in the mid-to late 70's the truck manufactures started making the heavy half tons as a way to get around the then emission standards. Of course it only post-poned the inevitable for a couple of years. Since sometime in the 80's, all gas engine's and even some diesels, have some kind of emissions on them. Robert
