my opinion - if you are pulling the engine you might as well take the body off so you can easily get at everything. Pull it out then measure the new against the old. Measure all critical dimensions. If you take a lot of pictures, tag everything and have the manuals - you will probably be ok. My two cents. Take a look at that link where a guy and his wife are restoring a PW. They describe it pretty well. So does the WM restoration on this web site.
