Bob, do you have a nv out of what, my understanding is that a early series out of a dodge as well as current models need to use a special bell housing from factory that is behind the V-10 or diesel motor. Anyway. so the bolt holes line up.. What about the clutch dis spine matchup with your 383, You may need to swap for the v-10 clutch disc as well. I read where the transmission is longer but rember you still ahve to match output yoke to your 383 rear driveshaft yoke. shorten driveshaft unless the drive shaft out of the v10 could be installed provided it is correct length and yoke match up, you might just change out the yokes if they will work and then you would have factory shaft out of late model truck to get replacement far if you ever breakone in pirateville, go to napa and ask for drive shaft for 2001 dodge v10 etc. Please keep me informed ,i am trying to do almost the same thing, put a nv45oo in w200 4wd, iasume you have 2wd? The nv400 is the way to go that for sure, overdrive for gas milage!where did you get transmiision how much, used new, what out of? thanks james.
