Yes, you do need to do something to the transfer case to make it work right...You gotta put a Mile Marker 203 conversion kit in the case. You need to drop the case in order to do this. I would try to find a NP205 case to put in it myself..
Also for the locking hubs: If you have a dana 60 front axle in the truck, it can be done. If not, the hub on the Dana 44 requires extensive modifications.
