YES!!! I have a first series bed and was planning on making a set of planks, first out of pine (cheap!) and then if that all went well, use them for a pattern and change to oak. I'm not a wood working type of guy so I thought I should screw up a set of pine boards before I ruin oak planks! If you have the resources and patterens, DO IT!! I think you'll have plenty of responses!!
