Remember, I was asking about the best way to ship a transmission? Well it finally arrived. I was able to arrange a local (to Illinois) shipper to transport it to Forward Air in Chicago for $45, and for an additional $80 it was sent to me. That air freight is cheap. Other companies wanted $250 to $350 and it still had to be deliverd to the dock.

Okay, so now the transmission is here in my garage. Does anyone know what it will take to install in my '70 W300 with a 383 V8? Is there a bell housing that will allow the two to match up with minimal work? Or will I be machining an adapter? Does anyone know where I can find the specifications of the NP 435 I will be replacing? (Input shaft length and diameter, and pilot shaft diameter.)

Thanks,
Bob Gardiner
