i used a ken-tool t-26a breaker tool & 4lb
hammer to unseat the beads from the rim flanges, removed the outer flange and dismounted 2 the other day and it did take a quite a bit longer than using the "hammer bead breaker". As an old tire man i would put this in the category of the vintage race wheels i have done and would charge the same so a dismount done this way might be $15 to $20 apiece (maybe more depending upon the time taken).
But to answer your question it can be done.
ps: all the wheels on both of my trucks have the marks of stray hammer blows of the past.
