Cliff, As you are seeing from the different postings, there are many different ways to go about this, but they all have the same goal, to get the engine running again. Whether the engine will crank over, has compression, how well the valve train works, and what comes out of the oil pan drain will indicate what work needs be done to the engine. One other thing, as someone else on the forum here has said, one thing usually leads into another. It goes something like this, You do an engine rebuild (just for an example), when you are done with that you decide to do brake work, while doing brake work you find out you need new wheel bearings, and it goes on, and on, and so on and so forth. But hey, it's fun and it occupies what free time you have. And you have yourself a Great Truck in the end. Robert
