The Willys (Kaiser) Jeep trucks which were used for the military were completely different than the civilian Jeep trucks. Much like the WM300 and M37's were different trucks. If you look at any of the Jeep Military 1¼ ton trucks you will find the only similarity with civilian Jeep trucks is the cab shell. The frames, etc were all HD units, giving credance to the wear and tear thoughts already expressed here. The Jeep trucks made for cilvilian use were light weight and flexible, just like the CJ's. They were made for light duty farm and construction work and for recreation. However to their credit, they were far tougher than anything made by gm or ferd. Dodge, Jeep and International were in a league of their own.
