thats what my dad told me in 1955 (stevens pass WA) when i asked him the question 'why dont you have any jeep trucks?'
his company 'Western line Contstruction' built transmission lines in the northwest and only used Power Wagons and a few surplus 62's,63's, duece&1/2's + 1 burma jeep (ford GTB)
Now The PW's had to haul full PW beds of steel tower hardware, sand, gravel, cement, and all the other construction materials required to remote tower sites (pre air-crane days)
