Yep, my Parts Book has those numbers and I dug into my box of parts and guess what, they are different. The upper does have smaller tappered teeth and also the smooth bearing surface. The shafts are different. The number on the shaft in front of the smaller teeth is "5S". Make sure that one gets back up top. If he doesn't see any problems in the TC and seems he has not found any, my next guess is a bad ring & pinnion in the rear. Once he gets the TC back together, start out in 2nd but not to fast and listen/feel for vibrations from the drive train. If he notices any then thats the next place to look. You can't tell by jacking the truck up and turning the drive line by hand.
