There are plans on a couple of places to make your own brake but most only bend up to 18 guage. The Power Wagon uses 16 guage sheet metal mostly. Additionally the wider the leaf of the brake is the stiffer it needs to be to prevent flexing in the middle. If you want a used brake I would start surfing the web for one. Another option would be to get 2 peices of heavy angle. Mount one to your work bench and use the other as a clamp to clamp the work together. Then take a heavy mallet and work the bend. Would be good for the infrequent bending and would not take up that much space in the garage like a brake would.

I would not mind picking up a 6-8ft box and pan for 16 gauge mild steel. Could make some nice boxes with them.
