The LD427 is the older, non-turbo multifuel used in the M35s. They can smoke alot. A buyer would do well to drive it under varying loads and see if the smoke is tolerable to him. The newer engines are the turbocharged LDT465-1C and -1D. There's also an LDS465 which is the "souped up" version used mostly on 5-ton trucks. It's more powerful, louder, and sucks a lot more fuel.
