These are great trucks! Sure they were built during the Chrysler down-fall, and there are about 7500 TSB's on them, but I LOVE 'EM!

The biggest "weak" link is the front hubs on the dana 44fbj axel. They need to be greased, which nobody ever does. So, they get REAL expensive to fix when neglected.

Other than the rust Chris mentions, they are as good as any 4x4 truck from that era, if not better!

BTW, they have a more stout frame than GM, they have a solid front axel (unlike Ford), and are easier to find parts for than a Jeep or International!

Oh yes, one more "defect" inherent on these- the steering gear box can (and usually does) come loose from it's mounts on the frame causing non-repairable frame cracks, so check that.

If the other part of that equation is loose (steering column shaft) just replace it with a Borgeson unit!
