Yes, you'll have to changeout or modify the tranny floorpan, the shift tower is further forward(towards the firewall).
You'll probably also have to change or shorten the intermediate shaft. The syncro tranny is a little longer than the crash box. Seems like I needed about 1/2" to an 1" to get the original shaft between the tranny and t/c. I ended up rebuilding the one out of the donor truck I got the 251 and syncro tranny out of instead of modifying the original.
I also had to change something about the emergency brake. The mount or cam lock or something. I'd have to go out and look and see if I could remember exactly.
