Well all my life I have been obsessed with old vehicles, particularly trucks. I remember seeing a flat fender or two as a little kid, but didnt think too much of it....Or not untill later anyhow. Well anyhow about the age of 14, I started getting interested in old trucks. I really wanted an old Ford, BUT 2 weeks after my 15th birthday, I bought a '71 Dodge D-200 Camper Special. I been in love with old Dodges since. My obsession with Sweptlines has started, and I still aint over it, even tho I dont have a Sweptline right now. Needless to say thru the years, I did end up with a number of old Fords, Chevies, IHC's a Jeep or two.......And yet..Lots of Dodge's.

Ok..On to the flat fenders. I have a good freind who lives in Northern Arkansas who is hardcore into military vehicles. He used to be my next door neighbor. It was seeing his WC-51 as a young kid plus a couple of M715s he had that really started to peak my interest in trucks of that nature. Well he moved south when I was 13 or so. Anyhow, he has a brother who lives close to me, so whenever he comes up here, he stays with his brother. When he came up in 1996, He was outback of his Brother's place tinkering with a car, and I walked back to see him. Well on the way back, low and behold there sat a 1947 WDX flatfender Power Wagon. That was the first time I recall seeing a 46-68 PoWag up close! I got instantly hooked and decided I had to have one...or two! Well I went and got my camera, and took probably 1/2 roll of film on just this one truck. I sent the photos of this truck to my friend and fellow Dodge enthusiast Monty Montgomery, and a few years later, they ended up in his Dodge Power Wagon book! I talked to the owner about selling the PoWag. He said no way! Well 3 years later in November of '99, he decided to sell. Well unfortunatly, I did not have a good steady job then, so I had to say no! That really bummed me out...BUT 3 months later, I got a call from a friend in Northern part of the state who knew the guy too and he bought it! Atleast I know where the truck is at and I may have a chance at it again someday! :) In April of 2000, I bought a 1955 C-1 Flatfender. I found it on this forumn as a matter of fact. I later traded it and 68 Dodge 1 ton 2 wheel drive for a super nice clean southern M-37 minus engine. The '55 Was way too ruff to really do anything with unfortunatly.

....Now, the only Dodge and the closest thing I have to a PW is the '79 Ramcharger. Its a fun toy, but If I had my choice of any 3 Dodge trucks in the world, I would choose a 1971 D-200 Camper Special, a 46-68 Flatfender PW, and a 71 W-300
