The website I saw had the manual type spec sheet stating the SD-33 developed its max. hp at 3600 rpms. The SD-33 might have a long life span if maintained properly but you still get no more hp or torque and might spend as much for the engine and the retro as you would a couple simple 230 rebuilds.
Personally I'd like to findout for a fact that the SD-33 had good longevity and the hp could fairly easily be boosted to around 150hp, for overdrive purposes.
