That's because of the crap that your state puts on the roads! CA & AZ Sweptlines are mostly rust free, except for areas that easily fall prey to rust due to lack of maintenance by the owner. Also, if Dodge transported body parts to the factory in unprotected containers in those days, rust would get a foothold, since all of the parts, except for San Leandro, CA built Dodges, were built in the RUST Belt!
