I went to a windshield shop and the guy gave me enough for two windshields. It looked like the old stuff that was in there. It does come in different thicknesses so watch for that. They told me at the corners to fold it and then cut it every three quarters of an inch or so and that worked good. I also put soap on everything to make it go together better.
I'm not sure if the original was preformed of not but I would bet if you were in the same position as long as that stuff was, you would look preformed also. :-)
