Local welding shop looked at my '58 and came up with a nice factory looking set up that bolts on to the frame and does not interfere with the pintle hitch as it sits a little bit lower. Approach/departure angles would be decreased slightly, but it might save the corners of your bed in case of a accident. Cost was around $120. I will take some pics and post.
