The term Sandblaster goes back to the old days when sand was used with air presure to remove rust, paint etc. Due to the dangers of sand its not the media of choice any longer. Media refers to the abrasive material you choose to blast with. It may be a Slag product such as Black Beauty, Glass beads etc.

A presure pot blaster does a great job. A siphon blaster will give you gray hair if your trying to do a frame or body.

The compressor must be able to supply a constant supply of air at a cfm that matched with the nozzle will maintain a given presure.

I bought a 7.5 hp compressor with a 120 gallon tank. It has continous run feature which allows the compressor to run continous when blasting. I bought my compressor and
'presure pot sandblaster' from Eaton Compressor and Fabrication in Eaton, Ohio.

Its a four cylinder compressor, VERY low rpm, Huge 220 single phase motor. Its built like a battleship and just sits there and makes high presure air. The presure pot sandblaster is very heavy duty, it will hold 100 pounds of media. It has ball bearing wheels and 20 feet of discharge hose. It also has provision to apply more air presure to the top of the media to aid in flowing on humid days.

I found Eaton Compressor to make very high quality compressors and sandblasters. They do not make sandblast cabinets. Before buying I went to TP Tools and Eaton in person and compared compressors and sandblasters. The choice to drive back to Eaton was easily made.

Eaton Compressors, Matt Cane owner 937-456-1752. I have no interest with Eaton other than shareing with you that I am very pleased and have put many hours on both the compressor and sandblaster.
