Salt Lake City: In a late breaking story, Canada has been stripped of it's gold metal in hockey. IOC officials reported that sources close to the team have admitted that coach Wayne Gretzky is actually a resident of Lake Sherwood CA, a suburb of Los Angeles. "This sheds a whole new light on things", said a spokeman for Gretzky. "While we are saddened that the medal has been taken away and awarded to Chile, there is no way that Mr. Gretzky is moving back to that frozen wasteland.,...Mr. Gretzys' yard, when it did get green, was constantly eaten by Moose, and it was just not worth it to stay up there", continued the spokesman. A spokeswoman from the IOC said that while residency in the participating nation has long been a requirement for team members, the policy will be reviewed at the next IOC meeting in Orlando. The residentcy requirement, which was mysteriously wavied for the entire Russian Federation team, which now resides in Tampa Bay, has long been a subject of controvery.
