I guess I should have been more specific. The front axles being used in these conversions had five hole Budds on them, it looks to have the same carrier casting as '46+ PW's, and even the tie rod looks the same, just every thing is reversed.

I thought about cutting the knuckles off and flipping it over and welding them back on. But before I do that I have to believe these axle assemblies are sitting around collecting dust. This conversion to four wheel drive was specifically for early Ford tractors, NAA and up through the 900 series. The reason for the differential being on drivers side was that a drive shaft was run from a transmission that monted to the left side of the tractors transmission which was powered through the inspection port. It could not be run from the other side due to PTO issues.

As I stated in the previous post, this was an option in the 1950's through early 60's. I think Elenco patented the idea in '52.

Pictures and article can be seen in the N Newsletter Volume 16 number 4, Autumn 2001. The article speculates that the axle assembly was old surplus units procured from Dodge by Elenco and later Daco.
