I've been running a '77 PowerWagon, W-200 ClubCab just as you cits since it was new back in, let me see, about '77!
I have 106k miles on it, it is a real hauler, 440, full time 4 wheel drive.
The only real changes I have made over the years is a diamond plate flatbed to replace the rotted bed and posi rear.
The front fenders, rocker panels, both doors, and floor boards have all rotted out and been replaced.
It gets 6.75 miles per gallon hauling a 10k pound trailer.
Take the trailer off and milage goes way up to 6.6 mpg.
It's not an every day driver - can't afford the gas. But when I need to move the house, it's there, ready and waitin'. The only time it left me down - it had something to do with the fire under the hood when the alternator fried the wiring harness.
Best advice is go for it! Repairs are always cheaper than payments on the 35 thousand dollar cost of a new truck!
Bob
