Dave,The block could be an industrial one,that's why no ID is stamped on the engine pad.Look under the exhaust manifold -right side of block towards front for a brass plate.If there is one it should say IND-5 or 6 if it is a short block.As far as the gauges go,the four engine gauges should be located in the center of the dashboard.You can see from the pic that they have been moved-should be rectangular ones too.hope this helps.
